pieces of the darkness shatter here before my eyes
outstretched arms are forced away as friends become the spies
we suffer in this blackened shell of beauty, gained and lost
tomorrow all will fade as poisoned canvas joins the frost

deep inside the whispers divulge long-awaited lies

far away the tongues of angels sing their melodies
poised to strike death in our hearts their foes count memories
hoping, wanting, losing, hurting, these become their tune
as time remembers long ago when we could see the moon

ripped apart, the world returns to begging for its life
traitors all look on as wisdom follows love goodbye
